CGEDER Cocuk Gelisimi ve Egitimcileri Dernegi

The Association of Child Development and Educators (CGEDER), was established in   May 20th. 2003 by Child Development Specialists as a Professional Association. Currently, the Association has branches around Turkey; İstanbul, Bursa, İzmir, and more to come.

The CGEDER aims to be the “voice” of all professionals in the area of Child Development and Education.  With this holistic call, and within the framework of Human Rights and Child Rights Conventions, the ACDE aims to ensure that all children in Turkey and around the world grow up healthy, and build their motor, cognitive, language, social-emotional skills in developmentally appropriate settings.

Dr. Melek Sabuncuoglu

The key person has 25 years experiences in disability studies, such as legislations, special education, accommodations, early intervention. After her retirement from governmental position she has been an academic position in the university as an instructor and researcher since 2012 -The Department of Child Development.

Dr. Sabuncuoglu also participated as an operative partner in the Erasmus+ icfcy-meduse.eu and startet wareness-rising processes in Turkey concerning ICF, complementing strategies to increase the participation of parents in developmental support processes.
