O2  Let’s use the same language

This open resource represents an interactive database for parents to use ICF in their (parental) context and enables professionals in school to refer to same codes and  same observation.

This tool therefore enables and provides innovative ability based descriptions of what a child is ABLE to do. Therefore it contributes to a bio-psych-social model of disability.

Methodologically the WHO quite "technocratic language of ICF" is "translated" into an easy reading parent version, following the same logic as for school professionals.

As ICF represents a complex system of 1400 codes only major heading areas (intelligence, attention, learning with objects, counting, reading...) will be addressed.

1) Existing example of easy reading version (DE, MK) will be provided (Dr. Pretis).

2) TR parent organisation checks the usability of these versions (e.g. by organising a focus group with parents) and provides feedback to the consortium.

3) In cooperation with TR partner, school psychology (AT), Dr. Pretis and Education for all (MK) existing simplified versions will be transferred: e.g. by adapting the wording: d330 communication -> My child speaks/expresses his/her needs

4) Beta versions will be piloted with parents in TR and within Phoenix (DE) and MK (focus group with parents in Stip).

5) Usability data will be fed back to the consortium to allow the finalisation of the product (an electronic  booklet will be published, which can be downloaded from the project homepage)

6) Finalised outcomes are disseminated (mainly based on parents association networks) within the overall dissemination and exploitation strategy.
